The Nelumbo tee is a beautiful t-shirt that is super cute for little girls. If the color is changed to another, a boy can easily wear this model as well. The blouse can be used as a t-shirt with a pair of pants or a skirt, or as a tunic if it is a bit bigger than the baby, and can therefore first be used as a tunic and later as a blouse, growing with the child.

Special for baby: The tee is knitted in a cotton/wool blend which can cool on slightly warm days but also warm on a cool day, making it suitable for both summer and transitional seasons. With a long-sleeved bodysuit underneath, it can also be used in the winter season. It features a beautiful and simple cable pattern over the yoke that ends in stockinette stitch.

The Nelumbo tee is knitted in the round from the top down. For babies, you may knit a slit in the first part of the yoke (described in the pattern). First, the neckline is knitted in rib. The pattern and the hidden increases for the round yoke are then started according to the chart. The work is divided, and the body is finished in stockinette stitch. The sleeves are knitted in the round from the top down – also in stockinette stitch. Both the body and sleeves are finished with a rib edge.

Techniques used:

  • Optional Italian cast-on.
  • Knitting according to a chart.
  • Increases in the strand.
  • Right and left cables.
  • Rib knitting.
  • Optional Italian bind-off.

You should choose a size based on the chest measurement. The tee is designed with a positive ease of about 2-3 || 3-5 cm. The pattern includes guidance for adding a slit for babies. Knit it one size smaller than the baby fits and use it as a tunic initially.
